This impressive Five stars Superior Nile cruise liner carries travellers in supreme comfort, grace and style creating an atmosphere where your every wish is fulfilled. The ship's, professional, friendly and experienced staff and crew deliver a personalised service that is second to none.

Split over Five-deck levels, this majestic vessel offers the perfect environment in which you can comfortably relax and soak up the real Egyptian atmosphere.  Enjoy a head-to-toe relaxation massage, top-up the tan on the enormous Sun deck or enjoy the nightly festivals of great fun and excellent food.  You can still experience the ancient wonders of Pharaonic Egypt with stop-overs and optional visits to some of the most perfectly preserved temples and monuments in Luxor and Aswan. 


After a day marvelling at the wonders of the past, the Chateau Lafayette offers a perfect night life to return to.  Enjoy the ship's spacious bar and lounge area, reading or relaxing in a cosy corner, or maybe take in one of the regular evening folkloric and music shows.  Whatever you choose,   you’ll want the ship to go as slowly as possible to prolong the Nile cruise experience of a lifetime.

Accommodation

Accommodation is on full-board basis with a daily tea time service that includes snacks and cakes. The Chateau Lafayette provides 55 comfortable and well appointed cabins spread across four deck levels. You can choose whichever cabin style suits you from:

  • 33 double cabins
  • 22 Suites .

The upper deck (2) houses 14 suites, the main bar and the lobby.  The upper deck (1) has 16 double cabins and 2 suites as well as the main restaurant, lobby and bazaar/ gift shop.  The main deck itself is home to 17 double cabins and the reception while the lower deck houses the remaining 6 suites and the on board clinic, buiseness center and a bazaar.  Main and upper deck cabins have large panoramic windows overlooking the Nile. Cabins each measure 18 m² and suites provide a generous 23 m². Every cabin or suite is fully air conditioned (individually controlled) and all cabins feature:

  • Private W/C, bathtub and hairdryer.
  • Satellite TV, internal telephone and music system.
  • Safe for storing valuables
  • Mini bar/fridge

Guests selecting suites will also receive:

  • Complimentary stationery
  • Bathroom slippers and bathrobes embroidered with gold logo

Dining & Leisure Facilities

The Chateau Lafayette creates a world of sumptuous dining that serves a delicious mix of local and international style cuisines.  The elegantly appointed main restaurant can accommodate all guests in one sitting and still leave enough room for entertainment and socialising.   The luxurious lounge has a convivial bar serving fine wines, cocktails, juices and flavoured coffees.  You can also indulge yourself by the pool bar sipping refreshing drinks while admiring the view from the magnificent Sun deck.


The facilities are every bit as impressive as the rest of the ship and exactly as you would expect from any Five-star hotel, including a 24 hour reception service and a laundry service.  The swimming pool and pool bar are located on the large Sun deck where you’ll find parasols and traditional wooden deck chairs for your comfort and relaxation.  A gift shop on board will supply treasured souvenirs or you can indulge yourself in the sauna or Jacuzzi.  A beauty salon is also available twice weekly in Luxor and Aswan.   Keep in touch with home through international telephone and fax service (charged for use) or dance the night away in the music performances held in the lounge.

Itineraries

The Chateau Lafayette typically cruises between Luxor and Aswan.

 
The 7 night/8 day cruise programme sailing from Luxor and returning to Luxor would usually consist of:


Day 1.  Check in and overnight on board the Chateau Lafayette.
Day 2.  Visit the Temples of Karnak and Luxor.   Sail on to Edfu via Esna and overnight on board.
Day 3.  Sail to Edfu and visit the Temple of Horus Temple.  Sail on to Kom Ombo and overnight on board.
Day 4. Sail to Aswan.  Visit the High Dam, unfinished Obelisque and Philae Temple.  Overnight on board in Aswan.
(The shorter 4 night/ 5 day cruise programme would include a visit to the Botanical Gardens by Felucca before an overnight in Aswan and check out on Day 5).
Day 5.  Optional visit to the Temples of Abu Simbel  (charged extra) in the morning.  Afternoon trip to the Botanical Gardens in Felucca.  Overnight on board in Aswan.
Day 6.  Early departure, sailing to Kom Ombo.  Visit the Sobek Temple then sail on to Edfu before steaming on to Luxor via Esna.
Day 7. Visit the West Bank of Luxor and the ancient monuments of Thebes.  In the afternoon, your time is yours to spend at leisure before overnighting on board at Luxor.
Day 8.  Check out and take home fantastic memories.

 

The 3 night/4 day cruise programme sailing from Aswan to Luxor would normally consist of:


Day 1.  Check in before lunch.  Visit the High Dam, unfinished Obelisque and Philae Temple.  Overnight on board in Aswan.
Day 2.  Early departure for Kom Ombo.  Visit the Sobek Temple, then sail on to Edfu and visit the Temple of Horus.  Sail on to Luxor and overnight on board.
Day 3. Visit the West Bank of Luxor and the ancient monuments of Thebes in the morning.  In the afternoon, tour the Temples of Karnak and Luxor.  Overnight on board.
Day 4.  Check out.
