Fujairah is one of the smallest of the seven Emirates that make up the United Arab Emirates, with a population of just 130,000, mostly concentrated in its main city, also called Fujairah.  It’s the only Emirate with a coastline on the Gulf of Oman in the country's east instead of the Persian Gulf, and unlike the other Emirates, Fujairah is quite mountainous.  This means Fujairah boasts a higher than average yearly rainfall, although it is warm and dry for most of the year.
